A special menu has been made available by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) for those taking trains while fasting during the upcoming Navratri holiday, which starts on September 26, 2022. In India, 400 railway stations will provide a unique “Vrat Thali” to travelers.
It might be difficult to travel while fasting during Navratri, and it can be extremely harder to obtain food for travelers. But when traveling by rail, they frequently can’t find food to fit their strict diets, which causes a lot of discomfort for many. Sometimes passengers on trains opt not to eat the food offered to them due to such reasons. It has been also noticed that people cancel or postponed their travel due to fasting.
Therefore, those who are traveling and have observed a fast may request the unique “Vrat Thali,” which is made with rock salt and prepared without onion or garlic.
According to IRCTC PRO Anand Kumar Jha, a special “Vrat Thali” has been created for travelers who are concerned about eating and drinking during fasting time. This “Vrat Thali” will be continued if there is enough demand.
